Grunge glamorous

Cardigan Primark, Dress Coolcat, Overknees H&M, Boots Primark, Bag Vila

Hi dearest,

It’s almost weekend! Jeej! Tomorrow I am going to take another piercing and I am so excited! I really really love piercings and tattoos. I know that lots of people see it as a huge mistake, but well at the end it is someone’s decision. I really wanted a tattoo when I was in California, but then I realized that I already have enough.

I will keep you guys updated about this piercing!

About today’s outfit: my colleagues approached me and told me that they think it is great that I dare to wear over knees.  I like their statement especially, because we are working in a multinational. I decided to combine this with a fluffy cardigan just to give my outfit a glamorous effect. I wore cut out boots, because chucks are not really something to wear to my work when it comes to this outfit. Also, the cut-outs are grungy and therefore make the look less glamorous.

San Francisco

Hi dearest,

My trip to San Francisco was great! The city has such an amazing atmosphere, the people are very friendly, happy and open. When we were sitting in the tour bus some of them were waving to us. We visited Chinatown, Alcatraz, The Golden Gate Bridge, Haight Ashbury, the Fishermans Warf and the pier. Also, we attended the Cherry blossom parade and the earth day celebration. The Cherry Blossom parade was about the Japenese culture and I still do not know what Earth day celebration is about. There was awesome music, lots of free samples and people were selling beautiful jewelry. It was pretty cold and I was so smart to bring only one sweater and bring only summer clothing with me. But that is all okay, because I bought myself a beautiful sweater and a handmade shawl.

We got a tour in China town and honestly our tour guide was annoying. I felt like she was making fun of her culture in order to make some money. On the other hand, we got to know some interesting facts about the Chinese culture. For example, they buy things in certain stores in order to give it to their beloved ones who died. By buying for example a house made out of paper or shoes, their beloved ones will receive it in the ‘spirit’ world. Yes, I know I cannot explain things well.

Alcatraz was my favorite part of the trip. Alcatraz is a federal prison on an island. We had to take a boat in order to get there (of course). When we arrived there we had to walk up some hills (Damn, they were pretty steep) and in the prison we got some headsets. We heard some former prisoners through the headsets and they were actually giving us an audio tour.

Los Angeles

Hi dearest,

I had been in Los Angeles for a couple of days. We slept in a hostel the first two days…I am not really about that life and I will not do it ever again. We went to Disney and I spent my Friday and Saturday in Hollywood. I loved it so much and I really want to go back. I did not really made outfit pictures last week; I was making pictures of the beautiful city all the time. Yet, I made one outfit picture. The long grey skirt is from H&M, it is usually not high wasted but I bought a larger size. The white cropped top is from my favorite shop Forever21 and the denim blouse is from New Yorker.

Also, I already mentioned that I also write beauty articles for vrouwen.nl which is a Dutch website which is focused on women. My best friend and I agreed on writing beauty articles as well, since we started a Youtube channel. Soon the blog will be online and I will keep you guys updated.
